Okay, humour aside, Stephenie Meyer may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and I am sure many people dislike her Twilight series of books, but I am actually interested in this news.
That said, the “sparkly vampire” meme that went around all those years ago also has my support. I consider myself (as a movie and book geek), a supporter of “real” vampires in fiction. Well, as real as they can be for fictional characters. And that does not include vampires with sparkling skin.
However, if you are not familiar with the book series, you may also be unaware that this particular book was supposed to release around 10 years ago. According to Wikipedia, Stephenie Meyer halted the publication of the book after the draft version was leaked online. The only reason why I am even the slightest bit interested in this book, is because it’s supposed to be the first in the series written from Edward Cullen’s point of view.
I have read all of the Twilight books (and I am not ashamed to say that!), and I am looking forward to reading her new release. I actually anticipate this book will sell well and that the story from Edward’s point of view will be a lot more engaging and entertaining than the Twilight series.
Speaking of reading, if you’re interested in checking out a draft of the book before the final version is released on the 4th of August, you can do so here, right from Stephenie’s website.
Until my next post, thanks for reading and keep safe out there!
