Ethan played by Boyd Holbrook
It relieved Ethan to not be lookout on this run, but he also didn’t feel comfortable not being there for his brothers. And of all people they could have picked to be the lookout, they chose Jed.
Still, Ethan didn’t feel like he was entirely right with his injury and all and didn’t want an enormous responsibility so soon after recovering from his gunshot wound. He moved his left arm a little more each day. It was getting better, and he was thankful that his main shooting arm wasn’t injured instead.
The gang met up with Jed’s cousin Earl just before the run, and Ethan looked him square in the eye when they met. Earl was a lot bigger than Ethan, and he had a lazy eye that Ethan found distracting.
But that feeling from the day before returned. Ethan decided that he would watch the new guy’s every move until that uneasy feeling went away. Jed never left his side which Ethan figured would happen. But it didn’t worry him none, that’d be like killin’ two birds with one stone. And after all that happened with Milly… Ethan would never ignore his gut feelings again.
The job went smoothly and when it was over, everyone but Ethan welcomed Earl properly into the gang. Ethan sat away from the group, just watching from his spot across the campsite. He saw Earl giving him the once over a few times from the corner of his eye and figured Jed must’ve kept him informed of what went down these past few months.
Ethan was ready for whatever was coming and for his chance to leave the gang so he could finally focus on what was important… finding Milly. For now, the gang was getting ready to leave the farmhouse and head out, so Ethan was gonna stick around a little longer, just until he felt it was the right time to make his move.
Little did Ethan realise but his plans were about to be totally ruined and with it, a change of fate not even he could have seen coming.
