This is going to be a very brief blog post because I have already outlined my goals for this year in this post. I’d just like to add that I will be blogging more about writing which is really just a continuation of what I used to blog about prior to writing my short stories. These posts will be sprinkled inbetween the fiction. I also want to blog about books once more, not necessarily reviewing them as I used to but focusing on books in general with a particular focus on fiction. I think writing goes hand-in-hand with books and reading. I don’t know how many times I’ve read some famous writer say “if you want to write well, read – a lot!” And I think this is probably the foundation all writers should come from. How can we understand the written word if we don’t explore how the words are written and used?
I also have something I’d like to share with you all and hopefully, I’ll get some feedback on what to concentrate on next. I have several stories unfinished but they are all in different genres and not at all like Tales of the West. I do have a western/fantasy short story in the works which I could focus on finishing next.
But the story I was writing came from the Tales of the West universe and is really a full-blown romance with elements of action and drama. I wanted to try my hand at romance at least once and this story kind of came to me as I was writing Milly and Ethan’s stories.
What do you think readers/writers out there? Continue in the same universe or concentrate on something different? I’d really appreciate any input you can give!
Till my next update – stay safe out there!
If you’re new to my blog – thank you for coming and welcome! I will assume you’re here for the writing and you can read my Tales of the West series starting with Milly’s story (Part I) and Ethan’s follow-up story recently completed (Part II).
What’s calling to you the most? Definitely follow your heart–I’ve found that whatever story is pulling me the hardest is the one I need to write. And usually the writing goes more smoothly, rather than plugging away at a story you feel you “should” write.
